cloud computing1. Know the Industry

Show them you’re ready for the next big change in Cloud Computing. Cloud Computing is a frequently changing industry. You’ll want to communicate your ability to adapt, continuously learn, and learn quickly. The best time to tell the interviewers this is when they ask you, “Where do you see yourself in 5 years?” Talk about where you see the future of cloud computing, and describe how you’d like to continue to develop your skills to meet what will happen in 5 years.

2. List Key Skills

Make sure to highlight the skills that matter. Here are a few of the most demanded skills in the cloud computing industry:

  1. SaaS
  2. Python
  3. Hadoop
  4. C, C++, C#
  5. Big Data

If you have these skills, make sure to highlight them in your resume and during your interview.

3. Prove It

It’s one thing to say that you’re an expert in C++, but it’s another to prove your abilities.Your interview is a time to explain the abilities and skills that you listed on your resume. Try to avoid listing your skills during your interview. You already did that on the resume.

Instead, bring in copies of your resume, share them at the start of the interview, and be prepared to give examples. Saying that you have these skills means nothing to the interviewers if you can’t show them how you’ve applied these skills in previous positions.

4. Speak Their Language

You may be an expert in cloud computing, but can you communicate what you do in a way that makes sense to those interviewing you?

Hopefully, there will be a cloud computing employee on your interview panel, but chances are those individuals will be limited in attendance. Odds are, your jargon and technical talk will not impress the majority of the people you speak with.

Consider bringing the cloud down to earth for the non-cloud techies. Not only does this display your communication skills, but it also shows that you really know what you’re talking about (rather than just throwing around buzz words).
