As the old saying goes, “April showers bring May Flowers” and nowhere is that truer than in the Pacific Northwest. Our Seattle office especially loves to take advantage of the spring weather and head outdoors, so we asked where some of their favorite spots were to check out the blooms!

Washington Park Arboretum

2300 Arboretum Dr. E., Seattle, WA 98112

The Washington Park Arboretum is known for its bright spurts of color blooming, particularly from late April to early June. Known especially their azaleas and rhododendrons, you can understand quickly where they might get that colorful reputation. They also a beautiful Japanese garden and its views of Lake Washington are unparalleled.

Carl S. English Jr. Botanical Gardens

3015 N.W. 54th St., Seattle, WA 98107

Hired by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1931, Carl S. English Jr. set out to transform what was essentially a construction site by the Locks that connect the Puget Sound to Lakes Union and Washington. He was successful and upon completion, an incredible English style garden remained for the public to enjoy.

Green Lake

7205 E. Greenlake Dr. N., Seattle, WA 98115

Green Lake is perhaps one of Seattle’s best examples of a multi-purpose recreational park where the blooms are on display. Among its mature trees and plants, you will find it’s signature yellow irises growing right at the water edge. If you are looking for a place to enjoy the blooms and be active, Green Lake is an obvious choice with its 2.8-mile long path suited for bikers, joggers, skaters, etc.

Woodland Park Rose Garden

750 N. 50th St., Seattle, WA 98103

Another wonderful garden operated by the city, the Woodland Park Rose Garden is right next to the Woodland Park Zoo. The garden, however, is one of only a few certified Rose Test Gardens in the US. This means that they get rose varieties before they are available for home gardeners purchase.
