Data Management Architect

Job Summary: As a Data Management Architect the role is accountable for defining and socializing the data management practice across the corporation. This position works with the business and delivery partners to establish Governance, Metadata, Data Quality, Reference Data Management and Data Structure Design standards and processes.


  • Drives definition and execution of Data Management & Enablement program in line with changing environment, regulations and risks
  • Act as primary Data Management Architect in the establishment of data management solutions
  • Interface with business units and various corporate & technology functions for activities such as obtaining buy-in for policies/standards, execution and enforcement of data management requirements and driving associated KPIs
  • Collaborates with data stewards on the above-mentioned activities
  • Collaborates with other teams within the company (e.g information security, infrastructure, engineering, etc.) to drive technology enablers for data management
  • Drive maturation of enterprise data taxonomy and glossary relationships, partnering with Data Management to create standards, develop scalable curation processes, and ensure established crosswalks across glossaries in various metadata systems
  • Using independent research and analysis of industry and technology trends, provide actionable ideas for innovation and business capability development
  • Ensure that implementations align to enterprise data strategy principles
  • Provide consulting to project and product teams on adhering to enterprise Architecture standards
  • Ensure a cross-functional view of business data is available to the enterprise
  • Incorporate data management needs in the enterprise architectural framework
  • Communicate technology strategy via roadmaps and conceptual diagrams documents
  • Provide consultation to teams on the tactical application of reference architectures and the strategic direction of enterprise technology Internal Information
  • Collaborate with technologists and business people to identify opportunities for innovation and automation
  • Works with business units and corporate/technology functions across the enterprise to support development, socialization, and execution of data management strategy as well as to enable business and product via appropriate management & use of data

Desired Skills/ Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience within a Data management practice and/or Data management architecture that was accountable for the establishment and process related to this discipline
  • 2+ years’ experience in industry tools managing Governance, Metadata, Data Quality, Reference Data Management and Data Structure Design (preferably Informatica suite of tools)
  • 5+ years of experience in IT in technology architecture, operations, and design
  • 3+ years of experience with Data integration technologies
  • 3+ years of experience with Service Oriented architecture and technologies
  • Experience to include working in a complex technology driven business, and cross-functional environment, including but not limited to management, compliance, security, application development, enterprise wide data–centric functions/initiatives, process improvement.
  • Ability to read and document technical process flows with a focus on data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively communicate across a broad spectrum of personnel - from technical subject matter experts to senior leaders
  • Ability to influence teams and outcomes without direct line of control
  • Experience in driving strategies and results via cross-functional, cross-border teams
  • Excellent problem-solving skills: Analytical approach to problem solving, including technical problems and organizational issues
  • Highly collaborative, constructive approach to driving results and resolving conflicts
  • Experience in the insurance industry
  • Experience working within agile methodologies
  • 3+ years of Data Security solution development experience
  • 3+ years of Informatica Data Management suite experience
