Software Development Consultant

Duties: 

  • Show Accountability to Production: is proactive in support of application availability targets (promptly respond to MIM and other L3 escalations, be available) 
  • Factor security requirements into how all work products are designed and built 
  • Comply with the company's security standards and processes 
  • Submit solutions through security reviews and code scans and other types of assurance processes 
  • Learn and demonstrates proficiency by delivering results with tools and processes selected for Functional Integration Testing Automation, Test/Behavior Driven Development (ex: Specflow, Odessa Test, xUnit, etc) 
  • Make concrete/verifiable contribution enhancing the level of automation of OLS Engineering's Build, Unit/Functional Integration/Regression Tests, Deployment and vendor integration processes 
  • Initiate cross-training through voluntary assignment rotation; manage tool/technology knowledge gaps proactively so as to increase your ability to take on different types of work seamlessly; experiments with new technologies 
  • Communicate effectively and frequently with feature team members (TPM, PO, SA and fellow Engineers) fostering alignment and sharing knowledge; when tackling a new problem or proposing a new technology solution seeks alignment and support with the various constituents (security, solution architecture, TAGS, etc) 
  • Maintain easily consumable documentation pertaining the applications, including but not limited to: architecture diagrams, server listings, upstream and downstream dependencies, etc.
  • Around the clock support 
  • Predominantly support the pipelines and the build

Desired Skills/Experience: 

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, related ield or equivalent experience 
  • 8+ years experience 
  • Excel in teamwork: engaged, thorough and responsive, shows great sense of ownership and pride of his teams work products
  • Fluent in written and spoken English  
  • Make and honors commitments and agreements with confidence
  • Able to read/write PowerShell & bash script
  • Experience working with Git repositories
  • Experience with CI/CD concepts along with practical implementation deliverables
  • Knowledge of Message Queue Brokers technology such as RabbitMQ
  • Solid understanding and experience with Data Storage stacks (SQL Server & MongoDB)
  • Proficient at implementing web applications using REST
  • Experience in TDD (Test Driven Development) and BDD (Behavior Driven development) and supporting frameworks
  • Strong C# skills with experience on .NET framework/Dotnet Core 2.0
  • Exposure to how the pipeline works, and how the build works  
  • Experience with Docker container and Kubernetes 
  • Interested in becoming an employee and grow their career 
  • Proven experiencing applying design patterns   
  • Proven experience leading projects, mentoring other engineers and conducting proofs of concept
  • Ability to work in globally distributed agile teams  
  • Ability to make process efficient or more optimal and be able to run with that, speak to that and not be intimidated by that 
  • Ability to know where to start and how to observe 
  • Exposure to GraphQL & gRPC 
  • Good knowledge of Cloud Computing and some implementations (PCF, PKS, AZURE, AWS) 
  • Exposure to the financial services industry
