Job summary:
 The Financial Specialist will have primary responsibility for financial transactions pertaining to wheat raw materials. This position will be a key support role for the company's Settlements team. This position reports to the Settlements Manager and has direct accountability to Risk Management.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring open contracts
  • Closing completed contracts
  • Confirming balances with suppliers for contract overfills and underfills
  • Receive wheat into inventory
  • Process settlements with suppliers
  • Daily monitoring of reports to validate transactions have been processed properly
  • Ensuring consistency and compliance of policies across all locations and functions
  • Creating processes that are efficient and simple with effective controls
  • Complete other projects, tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated capability to collaborate and execute cross functionally
  • Strategic thinking to establish, improve and stream line processes and procedures
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal), presentation and influencing skills
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience working in a business environment
  • Experience with implementing, and monitoring internal controls and effective policies

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 1+ years in accounting or finance positions with extensive experience working in a team environment
  • General Ledger experience, including Balance Sheet reconciliation
  • Contract application experience
  • Commodities background
