Job Description & Responsibilities

The technician is responsible for preparing digital assets for distribution or transmission according to audio/video specifications, ensuring a quality control process has been properly completed for all content and supporting post, live production and non-linear service offerings.

  • Ensure media files from providers meet specifications and guidelines
  • QC and edit long/short-form material in a variety of formats: generate media ID numbers, segment shows, confirm audio/video meet specifications, add graphics, disclaimers etc., download, manipulate and transcode media files for air and for distribution across multiple broadcast platforms
  • Complete various work orders for promotional material, planning logs and schedule coordination
  • Coordinate asset management, file archiving for all online and offline media across multiple platforms
  • Support Live Production teams in various roles as needed: technical director, audio or graphics assistant etc.
  • VOD content preparation, encoding & processing; Media coordination, metadata analysis and remediation/escalation as required
  • On-boarding of new providers to help assure adherence to platform and file requirements.
  • Processing of promotional materials for educational platforms, interactive channels and interstitial creation.
  • Create, fix and update static and motion graphics for on-air use on multiple platforms

 

Skills, Experiences, Knowledge

  • Must be organized and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have strong familiarity with VOD Cablelabs specifications, metadata structure, collaboration/visualization platforms and tools including but not limited to Keka, Peazip, Aspera, Vantage, Adobe Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, AE, Media Encoder, etc.), Excel
  • Proficient with Mac and Windows OS, experience with VOD and OTT platforms
  • Fluency in Spanish (a strong plus)
  • Willingness to work with or around adult content
