Job Title: Business Analyst


Job Description & Responsibilities

  • Work with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization to collect reporting needs 
  • Develop detailed requirements to convey business reporting needs 
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain metadata for BI reports, data at rest, etc. 
  • Document reporting process flows 
  • Assist PM to manage scope and prioritize deliverables 
  • Institute new reporting policies and procedures 
  • Develop customer training 
  • Document and communicate impact of reporting changes to affected business groups 
  • Participate in testing ie. documenting of test cases, deltas between legacy and new reports, UAT, etc 
  • Work with customers on ad-hoc data analysis requests, identify efficient solution, and prioritize tasks 
  • Troubleshoot data and BI application issues; work with PO and dev team to determine a resolution


Skills, Experiences, Knowledge

  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis on BI solutions, Reporting, and Data Warehouse
  • 5+ years of experience collecting and translating business needs into BI/reporting solution
  • At least 3 years of SQL and/or data analytics experience
  • Experience with Microsoft tools for business analysis (Excel, Visio, SharePoint)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
  • Experience prioritizing and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, metrics analysis, methodologies, and documentation standards

  • Familiar with Data modelling practices
  • At least 5 years of strong SQL and/or data analytics experience
  • Demonstrated experience with data models, database design development, data profiling, and analysis tools
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases (Postgres, SQLServer, AWS Snowflake, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (HBase, MongoDB, Apache Cassandra etc.)
