Watch the Fireworks

This year, watch fireworks explode at the city’s biggest show! Seafair Summer Forth (pictured above) is an event that take place at Gas Works Park, which is located right on Lake Union. There will be two beer gardens and six different music performances throughout the afternoon and evening. Then, for a grand finale, a 20-minute firework show takes place over the lake. The show is made up of over 8,500 pounds of explosives and it’s amazing!

Don’t just take our word for it. This event was voted one of the best firework shows in the nation by USA Today. Bring your own blanket and find a spot on the lawn for free. Reserved VIP spots are available, but limited. This is absolutely one of the best ways to celebrate while in Seattle. Don’t miss out!

For anyone wanting to celebrate with a family, there is a Fourth of July Dinner Cruise available for people of all ages. This cruise travels through both lakes as well and has a front row viewing of the fireworks. Both excursions are an amazing experience and a great way to spend the holiday. It’s no wonder they’re in high demand, book your tickets soon!

Grab a Drink

Enjoy the warm July weather by kicking back with a drink on an outdoor patio at a bar. The Lookout bar is known for its great view of Lake Union, which, as we mentioned, is where Seattle’s biggest firework show will be occurring. You’ll be able to catch a glimpse of the action on the lake as well as see the beautiful skyline in the distance. The Lookout is a lowkey bar with great drinks, food, and social environment. It’s perfect for a laid back Fourth of July.

Head to a Parade

For almost a century, the city of Burien has kept up with their local tradition of hosting a grand Fourth of July Parade. Thousands of spectators look on as floats make their way through the town’s streets. It is a two-hour event that starts at 3:00. Luckily, neighboring stores and restaurants typically stay open so the parade fans have a spot to grab a bite to eat and shop before, during, and after the festivities.

Family Favorite: Visit the Zoo

Woodland Park Zoo will be hosting a celebratory picnic on the Fourth for their animals. Hippos, monkeys, otters, and more, will be treated to patriotic snacks like watermelons and star-shaped fruit. Zookeepers will be present during the picnic to educate children about animal behavior and zoo life. The event starts at 10:00am, so it’s a perfect way to kick off a day full of fun with the kiddos.

As you can see, there’s so many exciting ways to celebrate in the city for the Fourth. From parades to parties, we hope you find the perfect way to spend the holiday. KellyMitchell has some exciting opportunities of our own.
