At KellyMitchell, we work hard but we also play hard. To highlight the incredible cities, we live, work and play in, we are starting a new series, “Around town with KM”. To kick it off, we’re heading to Chicago, the Windy City, also home of our largest office, one of our national recruitment centers.
Located in the heart of the River North neighborhood, our office overlooks the Chicago River. The River North neighborhood is known for having transformed from the closed factories and warehouses into a cultural center for all things art and design. Nestled amongst those refurbished warehouses and newer construction, you’ll find the Quaker Tower, the Chicago home of KellyMitchell.
It’s no coincidence that KM chose the River North neighborhood to plant ourselves. Centrally located, the Quaker Tower allows us access to prime amenities and attractions that help us make sure we’re having as much fun as we are working hard. Curious as to what our KMers are up when they’re not at work? We’ve polled the office and come up with some of our favorite spots to share with you!
Beyond being some of the largest donuts I’ve ever seen, their flavors are enough to get you through even the roughest mornings. Some highlights include The Pilsen (mango-pineapple glaze with Tajin Spice and lime zest), Maple Bacon Long John (REAL maple glaze and the slice of candied bacon) and Banana Walnut (bismark filled with banana cream, dipped in chocolate ganache and topped with walnuts).
Perfect for your weekend brunch, this rooftop hotspot with an open-air terrace boasts some of the most incredible views. Their unique take on brunch cocktails or “High Noon Potions and Elixirs” as they call them will have you questioning why you’ve always just stuck with a Bloody or Mimosa…
Only open during the summer, this is a great spot to kick it after brunch and escape the heat with the breeze off the lake. With several dining options right on the beach as well as bike/volleyball/chair rentals, this spot is sure to not disappoint.
Looking for some comfort food with a spin? Bub City is your spot! Top picks would include their Chicago Style ribs or the City-Style chicken wings. With a brunch menu and even a gluten free menu, Bub City has something for everyone!
Hidden in a back alley and down a long stair case you’ll find this hidden treasure tiki bar (pun intended). Known for their fruity cocktails, there’s something on the menu for everyone. Looking to celebrate closing that latest deal? Check out the Treasure Chest which rum, pineapples, guava, lime and to top it all off Dom Perignon (true ballers only please)!
For even non-baseball fans, Wrigley Field is one of our nation’s most historic landmarks and certainly a must-do experience while in Chicago! With so many games spring to fall, you’re bound to be able catch a game.
