This Fall, Fall for Dallas

Fall in Texas can kind of sneak up on us. Being a more southern state, we ease into autumn different than our more northern offices. However, don’t let our warm temperature make you think that that means we take fall any less seriously. And to prove our point we made a checklist of all the best fall things to do down here in the Big D!

This had to be the first thing on our list since it was named one of “America’s Best Pumpkin Festivals” by Fodor’s Travel and is touted as Dallas’ favorite fall tradition! The Dallas Botanical Garden’s annual event shows off a myriad of autumn’s best plants and vegetables. The Pumpkin Village has over 90,000 pumpkins, squash and gourds with over 150,000 other fall blooming plants. 2017’s theme will be The Wonderful World of Oz and is sure not one to be missed.

Unlike many state fairs which run maybe a weekend or at the most a week, the Texas State Fair is a whole month long, running from September 29th to October 22nd! Their main stage has great country acts, celebrity chefs stopping by to offer up free samples and of course plenty of those Texas Longhorns in the stables to check out.

Whether you’ve got kids or you’re a kid at heart, Mainstay Farm is the place for you. They’ve got pedal cars, duck races, a jumping pillow, fishing pond, tractor hayrides, zip-line, 3-story tree-house, superchute slide, pumpkin smash, sheep racing and SO much more! Oh yea and there’s obviously a pumpkin patch! It’s basically everything you could ask for from a fall-centric location!

Enjoy that crisp fall weather by catching a flick or two at the Galaxy Drive-In. Your low ticket price includes TWO feature films with sound broadcasted over an FM channel. Be sure to check out their snack bar too, it’s stocked well beyond the average movie theater with fare like corn dogs and funnel cakes!

And if seeing those leaves change colors is something you worry about missing down south, take a little drive an hour and a half west to Lake Mineral Wells State Park. Here you can immerse yourself in the fall beauty of the changing colors.

Does Dallas sound like somewhere you could spend the fall months? Well if you’re looking for a reason to move down to Dallas, we’re hiring!
