KellyMitchell is proud to have a long-standing partnership with the United Way, a national organization dedicated to helping improve lives through the local communities. While we donate both our time and our treasure throughout the year, we come together as a company during the month of October to learn more about this impactful agency and its efforts. Our colleagues recently shared why they think it is “the best time of the year” [as United Way Month has been dubbed at KM] – take a moment to check out what they shared below!
I have the honor of chairing our United Way campaign during the month of October. Every year I look forward to the kickoff. It is such a great feeling to be able to bring the whole KellyMitchell team together in support of one goal: helping others. One of my favorite parts of our campaign is highlighting a different United Way agency each week and learning more about what they do for our communities. It really helps us understand firsthand how much our donations and volunteer work positively impact our communities. I’m so thankful to be surrounded by a team that possess a strong philanthropic spirit. Our culture is rooted in giving back and helping others, and we have a ton of fun along the way, too!
There is no better celebration than everyone at KellyMitchell coming together for a good cause. It breathes new energy into our week and brings our teams closer together. It’s so rewarding to see what a difference we can make for the communities that we live and work in. "Dip Day" is hands down the best day!
I have been contributing to United Way since I started at KellyMitchell back in 2010. I live by the mantra, ‘you only get back what you give’ - whether that’s the hard work I put into doing something to see a positive result or what I do to actively give back to my community both monetarily and through my service. My dad taught me at a young age that the good fortune and happiness you receive in life is reflective of how generous you are to others. United Way makes it easy for me to support nonprofit organizations in my local [Seattle] community and in my hometown, St. Louis.

I’ve never been part of an organization that prioritizes and makes philanthropy so accessible and fun to participate in until KM! While our contributions to United Way are year-round, United Way week is an incredible reminder and collaborative event that gets the entire company excited and engaged with our number one goal: helping others! My favorite part of the week is seeing how competitive and creative our team becomes all in the name of charity – being able to bond with my colleagues, play games, raise money, and see the tangible results of our comradery is the invigoration we all live for!
Participating in United Way Week is always one of my favorite times of the year. KM’s philanthropic involvement with such an awesome nonprofit organization is just one of the many reasons why I love working for this company! My favorite part is knowing that our donations and time are going to deserving and struggling families. It always makes my heart warm knowing that we were able to help with things like putting more yummy food on the table or giving a young child their favorite gift on Christmas morning.

I’m grateful for KM’s annual United Way week. I’m so fortunate in so many ways, but life gets so busy with work and kids that admittedly, I don’t take enough time to give back. KM’s United Way week provides me a platform and vehicle to contribute to great causes that I otherwise might not know about or support.
I became a United Way fanatic when I joined the KM team and learned about the immense impact United Way has on our community, how many people it serves, and the amazingly high percentage of every dollar that makes its way directly to those in need. I also appreciate the networking opportunities it affords, and let’s face it – the ongoing Queen of Hearts game is a winner every time. I’ll put my money on United Way every day!
For me, United Way Week means coming together with my teammates to help our communities – and having a lot of fun along the way! I always join in on the festivities because a little friendly competition [through our planned activities] while raising money for United Way is one my favorite ways to be donate throughout the year. The United Way supports so many amazing agencies and it’s rewarding to be a part of that!

My favorite part of United Way week at KM is the sense of community that is formed. Through different activities that are planned throughout the week, all of our offices come together in some friendly competition in honor to raise money for the amazing charities that are supported through United Way. It always makes for such a fun week!
